Really....

I am so beyond irritated with my internet service.  It is too bad that Guam only as one internet service.  I'm freakin' annoyed with all the stupid power outages, and they just need to stop turning it off.

What is worse is that they just randomly turn off the power, sometimes without warning sometimes they give us a heads up.  But either way I guess i should be happy that we have internet service at all, because when we first came to the island they were still behind the times and just getting a good footing on their internet service.

Well that SUCKS

I just received some horrible news about my cousin's.  They lost everything, and I feel horrible for them.  They just had a beautiful baby boy 5 months ago, and now to have this complete loss, I just don't know what to say.

Fire damages townhouses in Rochester Hills, MI

I just feel horrible.  It is very hard to help them living over 10,000 miles away.  We will find something to help them some how some way.

Heat Injury AGAIN!

Goodness, I really wish the doctor's could figure what the hell is going on with my body, but go figure they can not.  I drink water like it is going out of style, make sure I'm eating properly, and doing everything in my personal power to make sure I do not get a heat injury again.  Then all of a sudden I'm working out today, it was hot, humid, and sunny, and then it happened.  I started to sweat even before we started our workout, and towards the end I begin to get a headache.  I can't manage to do the abdominal work because I can't seem to cool off.  Through out the entire workout I kept wetting my towel and applying it to my head and neck, but unfortunately NOTHING helped!

I just want my heat injuries to go away, I'm sick of having to be careful not to get one...I just wanna have fun and run without worry.

Ouch! He Did It Again...

Good Lord! This boy is going to drive me to drink.  Not 24 hours later he went and dotted his other eye, but this time it was much worse.

Hubby was working late and we had just tore down the kids beds so the kids were sleeping in my room.  After sending both kids to bed, for not listening, of course, they were playing around.  While I sat watching the Olympics, there was a scream from my room like the kids were playing and they hurt each other.  More of a "mom she/he hit me" scream, my little girl came running out into the living room and my boy followed.  As he came out of the hallway he had his hand over his face, he took his hand off his face and I saw nothing but blood.  He sat down at the dinning room table and I grabbed a towel and had him hold it over his face.  I called our neighbors and asked if they could keep my girl so I didn't have to deal with her at the ER.  I am blessed to have such awesome neighbors, they kept my girl and called my hubby at work to let him know what was going on.  And off the the ER my boy and I went.

While driving in the car, sitting in the ER, and talking to all of the doctors and nurses I found out what happen.  He was climbing off the the bed to turn on the light and fell.  He hit the corner of my hope chest and busted open the side of his face.

The triage nurse was kind enough to give us a band aid, because the bleeding was controlled while we waited.

A face full of blood, a band aid on the wound, and an eye starting to bruise, we were finally called back to see the doctors.  They uncovered the band aid and gave him some lidocaine to help numb the area, because stitches were in his very near future.

The lidocaine cream was applied, but then things got UGLY!  The doctor had to wrap my boy up like a burrito.  HE DID NOT LIKE THAT...my poor guy, screamed and cried while they gave him the lidocaine shot and his stitches.  When he was done he just wanted to be held and to go home.  I told him we would do just that.  3 stitches later and a single tear, my poor guy.

As we finally headed home he fell asleep in the truck and slept of quite a while into the next morning.  I'm hoping this is the last injury for at least a little while.  The poor guy can't handle anymore negative trips to the doctors.

12 hours later and my boy looks like he got into a boxing match and was able to walk away.  The good news :: he's still smiling.

Dotted the 'Eye'

We had a wonderful left over Ash Wednesday dinner with friends.  BUT things turned south after we put Patrick to bed.

While we sat in the kitchen enjoying the conversation of our friends who were eating dinner with us, Patrick was just a bit to hyper and trying to be center of attention.  So we sent him to bed, it was also his bed time as well, so off to bed he went.  As we sat there talking, we head this awful thud followed by a crying scream.  Patrick came out and showed us his left eye.  He said he was playing around and hit his face off the side of his bunk bed.  Nice now he has black eye.

To save us any possible grief, I emailed his teach that night and let her know what happen.  Cause you never know anymore if someone is going to jump to their own conclusion or ask him what really happen. This boy is going to kill me if he keeps hurting himself.  But I guess this is the life of having a boy....

Ash Wednesday

The start of the Lenten Season is upon us, what a blessed time of year to sit back and think.  There is so much to think about during this time of year that it gives you time to remember what is important.  We pulled Patrick out to receive his ashes which was obviously really important to him.  I'm not sure if it was because he got out of school, he was able to spend some special quality time with the family or if he really enjoyed going to church and receiving ashes.  Oh well, either way Bella was ticked off that she didn't get to have the Body of Christ during Communion.  We will be ok though, and so will she.  Have a wonderful Lenten Season.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Happy Valentine's Day! What a wonderful day this has been.  I received a beautiful bouquet of red roses and pink catalilies from my hubby and a single purple-ish/pink rose from Patrick.  It may look like I have just received just flowers, but I know my gift is on its way and will be in my home shortly.

I gave Dempsey 12 rounds of golf at the local country club and set him up a tee time for President's Day, tinted his truck windows, and a Road ID for when he runs.  But don't worry the kids made out for Valentine's Day also, both of the kids received one big gift of a floor puzzle.  Bella-girl received the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Minnies Bow-tique.  Patrick really made out, he was given a set of junior golf clubs.

We had a nice day together as a family.  I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved ones.

Now that I'm calm

Here is what happen (its a little more understandable now that my adrenaline isn't running) ::

Patrick crawled into bed with me at 0400-0415 and I heard the front screen door slam shut.  I called out to the main part of the house and no one answered me.  I tried to send my lazy butt dogs out but they looked at me like I was the crazy one.  Then I heard feet shuffle and the door close again.  Then Boonie got up to look, I called security and they came over swept the inside of the house and the outside.  There was no sign of forced entry, and what made it even weirder was I had to unlock my front door.  I don't know what happen, but I know I'm not hearing things.

While I was talking with security, Patrick decided he wanted a biscuit.  He proceeded to warm one in the microwave.  I have no idea how long it was in there for but he managed to burn the biscuit (top and bottom), crack the plate it was on, set of the smoke alarm, and fill the house with smoke.  He did all of this while I was talking to security on the front porch.  What's funnier is that Bella slept through ALL of it.

So needless to say I will probably be on edge all day.  But everyone is physically fine, the house is still standing and my dogs, well their special and we will work on them.

Well that was F-U-N.....

0400, really 0400..WTF? Someone is going to come in my home, while I'm there and wake me up.  I heard your feet shuffle, I heard you slam the door.  I'm not a freaking victim, I know what my rights are, and how to protect myself...but you come into my home, disrupt my family,  and wake me up!!!  GRRRRR, its on!  Try that crap again!  See what happens when I catch you!

See my son also tried to set my house on fire while I was talking with security,  and if that would have happened I would have done more than just kicked your ass (well, as soon as I find out who/what you are)!!

Don't ever show your face around here, not your scent, don't even look at me, my family, or my house!  I don't know who you are right now, but God Blessed don't let me find out either.

Guam Ko'ko' Road Race

I have set a huge goal for October.  I'm going to run the Guam Ko'ko Road Race, I will run the Ekiden Relay with Dempsey, Kim, and Bruce! I am soooo excited about this.  We all have to run a 5K for each of our legs, but we are starting to train now so come October we will rock the course.

I have decided to run this race to see if I can complete this one of a kind huge race.  I can't wait, I know we are going to do A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!

Guam Ko'ko Road Race

(I'll post this years Ko'ko as soon as I can get it)

DAMN IT!

My leg is killing me. Every since I started hitting the gym hard it has decided to hurt. I don't think its shine splints, but who knows. All I know is it hurt major bad. So here I sit with my leg wrapped up in ice, UGH! I stretch and it doesn't help, I'm at a loss.  I can't afford another injury, every time I get going on my workout and I start making progress I get hurt.  Its really starting to tick-me-off.  I just don't know what to do anymore, I've changed my shoes, my posture when running/walking.

Maybe one day I will be injury free and able to loose my weight.

Another Day Down

What a fabulous run/walk today!! I ran errands today, went to the pool and then came home for naps. I was wonderful, until I had to take 2 crazy dogs for a 0.7 mile walk, these two actually walked me instead of me walking them. Their nuts but we love them. Now Resse, our rottie, is passed out on the floor with no possibility of moving. They are great when they are this exhausted, they don't drive us nuts.

I'm feeling great and my clothes are starting to loosen up. I'm so excited that I'm finally seeing progress!!

Safe Running Tips

Cause we all need to be reminded every once and while.

For those of you who are new to running here are some running safety tips.

1. RUN AGAINST TRAFFIC! That is, on the left side for us right-side-of-the-road driving countries.
If you are running in the same direction as traffic, cars will come up on you from behind. You can't see whether or not they're going to move out of the way. When you run opposite traffic, you have a chance to get out of the way if drivers don't see you

2. Wear bright colors: to draw attention to you. neon yellow, bright red, safety green, and reflective clothing

3. Keep your head up: look a head of you and pay attention to your surroundings.

4. Stop at intersections: Stop & look at intersections. Drivers are not expecting you to run out.

5. Don't run threw a red light : Wait. those wanting to "beat" the light will do so with not thinking about anything other than "beating" the light.

6. Run single file when running in a group - particularly in high traffic areas.

7. Avoid running alone in isolated areas - vary your route.

8. Run defensively: Have a game plan if a dog comes at you or if you get approached or attacked.

9. Don't argue or gesture ate people driving. (This might be common since but I've seen it done)

10. Have a Road Id on you. (I keep one on my shoe)

11. Let someone know where you are going and when you'll be back.

12. Take a cell phone. ( I won't tell you were I keep that HAHAH=-)

I personally run with a flashing light attached to my shirt collar (day or night), and clothes that are reflective. It is well worth the money for my safety. However that doesn't guarantee the drivers will see me. I have to pay attention and look for them.

What are some things you do or don't do to run safe?

Be safe and have fun running!

Another one bites the dust!

What a wonderful workout with Stroller Strides. I'm getting better at everything I do, I've even started to run during the class. Which, for me, is AWESOME!! I am finding my cardiovascular system becoming quite strong, especially since my recovery time is improving. I'm so happy everything. Running is a wonderful therapy device!

Taxes!!

Goodness this year's taxes was crazy trying to figure out. I can't believe how difficult this year was, but I'm glad its over. One day my tax return will come. Ah!

Figuring Out My Workout Routine....

I have worn myself thin, well more into exhaustion. I am openly working with my trainer and I think have an idea of how to get the most out my workouts. I'm thinkin' that I do Stroller Strides on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; then I do a modified P90X the rest of the week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It might take me longer than 90 days to complete program, but I will do it injury free. Now just to run this plan but my fabulous trainer!
